Second - community awareness must be
increased. This will happen by: an active press release program, re-establishing
school programs, bringing in new & changing exhibits and establishing a working
relationship with members of the County as well as the region and the State. I have
already had over 20 meetings with people in the community. I am struck by the
tremendous support voiced by all.
Our third and fourth objectives are
related. We need another location and the new location must be at least two times
the size of our present facility.
Number five on the list of objectives
is to make the Jim Bob Tinsley Museum a part of a county museum to gather and
exhibit the heritage and culture of this history rich area. We lose a little more
of this precious heritage with each passing day. We will ensure that the Jim Bob
Tinsley Museum & Research Center lives on for many years to come by
combining the two museums and by dedicating a room or a wing to the Jim Bob
Tinsley Museum. The overwhelming positive reaction of the community members fuels
my desire to push forward.
