Tinsley Museum Establishes Scholarship
[Friday, November 9, 2007]

During their October Board of Directors meeting, the Jim Bob Tinsley Museum Board voted to create the Jim Bob Tinsley Scholarship. The scholarship was established to help support Transylvania County High School seniors who plan to pursue a writing career.

The Board plans to work with the Transylvania Community Foundation and the Transylvania County School system to handle the process. Currently the Tinsley Museum is raffling a 42-inch LCD HD TV with all proceeds going to the scholarship fund. The proceeds from a recent concert held at the Tinsley Museum have also been earmarked for the scholarship.

“Another way we plan to fund the scholarship is through the sale of the second edition of Jim Bob’s famous book, He Was Singin’ This Song”, explains Dean St. Marie, president of the Board of Directors at the Tinsley Museum. “All future sales will be funneled into the scholarship fund.”
