On Saturday July
21st, 2007 the Jim BobTinsley Museum & Transylvania County
Heritage Center hosted a family waterfall tour. Ten members of the
Rohner family, which consisted of two brothers, four sister and four
spouses, visited ten waterfalls over an eight-hour period.
Waterfalls visited included; Log Hollow, Bird Rock, Courthouse, Dill
and six others.
“The waterfalls we visited were
extremely beautiful, what a full day”, noted Laurel Rohner who
arranged the family tour. “It is always such a special treat to see
the waterfalls of our area in their natural environment, unlike the
commercialism of waterfalls such as Niagara Falls.”
The Tinsley Museum & Heritage
Center offers three type of waterfall tours; basic, adventure and
extreme. All tours include lunch and transportation. Tour guide,
William Murr, provides information about the waterfalls, plants and
various other items along the tour.
